Did wild hogs kill Christopher Whiteley?
You asked. We're answering.
Hey listeners!
Since we wrapped up season 4, we’ve been reading your comments and reviews, and one question has come up a lot: Could feral hogs have killed Christopher?
We didn’t really explore this during the season, but Wes actually talked about hogs with Mike Bodenchuck, one of the wildlife experts who worked on Christopher’s case.
In this bonus episode, we look into why or why not feral hogs could have been responsible for Christopher’s death.

Mike did find pig tracks at the scene, and a pig was seen on the drone footage the sheriff’s office took.
Plus, Mike also explains one of his theories about what happened to Christopher, which actually does involve a hog. And, Mike talks about another case in Texas he investigated, one that was definitely feral hogs. He told Wes this case was even weirder than Christopher’s.
In 2019, a Southeast Texas woman named Christine Rollins was arriving for her overnight home healthcare shift in Anahuac, a small town about 50 miles east of Houston, when she was killed by feral hogs just outside the house.
The Chambers County sheriff said it was the worst thing he had ever seen in his 35 years in law enforcement.
This was truly one of the most horrifying and tragic cases I’ve heard about, because unlike Christopher’s, there’s not really any suspicion that a person could have been involved. This woman was just trying to go to her job, and was somehow attacked and eaten by feral hogs before she could make it inside. It sounds like something out of a horror movie.
But it does offer some insight into whether feral hogs could have been responsible for Christopher’s death.
We’re curious to see if this changes how you see the case. Let us know what you think!
Thank you so much for your continued support of The Unforgotten, and I hope you enjoy this bonus episode! We are hard at work on season 5, and are excited to share more soon! — Aislyn
A note from Wes: I’m a boring, middle-aged dude, so it’s kinda funny that I keep recording ads for the makeup company Jones Road Beauty. That said, my wife, Laura, really likes their makeup, and it’s amazing that they chose to sponsor our work.
